Premier Eby Offers to Scrap Carbon Tax if Federal Mandate is Lifted

B.C. Premier David Eby stated that the province would end its consumer carbon tax if the federal government removes the legal requirement to have one. Eby acknowledged the importance of addressing climate change but also highlighted that many people are struggling with high living costs. He suggested that removing the federal mandate could help alleviate financial pressures while still addressing environmental concerns.B.C.
