Massive Canada proudly announces a substantial commitment of $10 million from the Government of British Columbia, supporting its cutting-edge 91,000 sq ft. mass-timber and building prefabrication facility in Williams Lake.
This noteworthy investment, complementing Massive Canada's own contributions, will pave the way for the creation of 71 well-paying jobs within Williams Lake. The primary focus of the facility will be the production of prefabricated components for a range of construction projects, including townhomes, laneway homes, apartment units, and commercial developments. Notably, Massive Canada's construction approach incorporates sustainably sourced wood, a hallmark of mass timber construction. This method not only reduces carbon emissions but also minimizes construction waste when compared to conventional materials like steel and concrete.
Premier David Eby expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "This marks a significant milestone in addressing our province's housing needs. Massive's commitment aligns perfectly with our goal to expand housing options across British Columbia."
As the inaugural recipient of funding from the BC Manufacturing Jobs Fund, Massive Canada anticipates full-scale production to commence by 2024, ushering in a new era of modern construction practices and contributing to robust economic growth in the region.
